The 2018 Edition of the OCMCA Policy and Procedure Manual is available below. Be advised that the full manual has been approved, but the dated edition from BETP has not been sent for distribution.
Be advised that no new drugs or policies advising on their use will be implemented until shortages are alleviatedand education is complete.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION CHANGES:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pre-hospital Pediatric Certification (PALS or PEPP) will become a medical control authority requirement. This is a change from past practice when these were recommended certifications and up to each individual station to require.
DRUG BOX CHANGES
There will be changes in the EMS drug boxes and some medication protocols have required education. PLEASE NOTE: due to some nation-wide shortages of several of the medications, the OCMCA will not be implementing any changes to the drug box or education requirements until the shortages are minimal or resolved.
